Island of Elba

The island of Elba is the largest island of the Tuscan Archipelago and the third largest in Italy (223 km ²). Elba and the other islands of the archipelago (Pianosa, Capraia, Montecristo, Gorgona, Giglio and Giannutri) is part of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park.

The island of Elba is divided into eight areas: the main one is Portoferraio, the others are: Campo Elba, Capoliveri, Marciana, Marciana Marina, Porto Azzurro, Rio Marina and Rio Elba, for a total of about 32 thousand inhabitants.

One of the main peculiarities of the greater Tuscan island, is the extraordinary diversity of the places we meet. The beaches on Elba are so many and all different from each other: long beaches of golden sand, small pebbles coves, beaches of black sand, white pebbles and cliffs of smooth granite. Beaches which combined with extraordinary views and a crystal have nothing to envy to the most famous Caribbean landscapes.
The main road network (about 220 km) is completely paved. There are other scenic roads for about 60 Km

Ferries depart every 30 minutes and take about 40 minutes from the port of Piombino, which is approximately 1.5 km from the residence
